A Second Chance
Friday, January 15, 2010
A year ago today, 155 people on US Airways Flight 1549 thought they were going to die. During takeoff from New York City, their plane struck a flock of geese, disabling both engines. In a powerless glide, the captain maneuvered over the densely populated area, and then announced: "Brace for impact". Less than 90 seconds later, the crippled plane made a water landing in the frigid Hudson River, where boats and ferries quickly arrived to rescue the passengers and crew, all of whom survived. People called it the "miracle on the Hudson", and praised the pilot and crew. One grateful passenger said simply, "We have a second chance in life". In times of crisis, we grasp the importance of every hour. During our ordinary routine, however, we often forget that each day is a second chance. Today, God offers you a second chance in life. Let's make the most of it!

What Dogs Could Teach Us
Hope all of you had a wonderful CHRISTmas. I was able to spend the holidays with my children and grandchildren in TN. Had a wonderful visit, and thank God He allowed me this occasion. Now, here we are in a brand New Year. I am hoping to be able to do a little more card making in the near future. Trying to get a room arranged so I can make that happen. Meanwhile, I ran across a little reading that I would like to share with you, as I sit here in the recliner with my dog, BOUDREAUX. Enjoy!
WHAT DOGS COULD TEACH US
1. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
2. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a ride.
3. When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
4. Let others know when they have invaded your territory.
5. Take naps, and stretch before rising.
6. Run, romp, and play daily.
7. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
8. On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
9. On hot days, drink lots of water, and lay under a shady tree.
10. When you are happy, dance and wag your entire body.
11. No matter how often you are scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout....run right back and make friends.
12. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
13. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
14. Be loyal.
15. Never pretend to be something you are not.
16. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
17. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
18. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face, to be pure ecstasy.
