New Baby

I hear there is going to be a new baby in our family, and she is a little girl. This card would fit the bill, as it is all in pink! It is very simple, but I do like the looks of it. PP is from American Crafts, with a big white satin bow. TFL

Happy Birthday

My husband is celebrating his birthday today. He is having to work a 12 hour shift, which is not good at anytime, but especially on your birthday. Since we are from the deep South, we will be having gumbo w/rice, potato salad, crackers, and homemade banana nut cake w/cookies and cream ice cream. His 2 sons and their families should be here about supper time. :-) Here is a card I have made for him. TFL

Thank You

I wish you could see this card IRL. I was so thrilled to receive it this week from my dear friend, Dolores. It was so cute, that I asked for permission to post it here on my blog. I hope you enjoy it, as well.
Instructions: The scalloped part of the card was created using a Bigz die. PP is from K & Company, and the dots are embossing. The butterfly(he is just darling) is cut from the same PP, with the use of Charcoal Stickles around the edges and body. And the little Thank You is again from the same PP, using a Cuttlebug die. And, for the final touch, she used lace, which is wrapped to the back and secured.
Thanks, Dolores, for this precious card, as well as for your friendship over the years.

Bow Making

Don't you just love a beautiful bow? I saw these instructions, and thought I would share it with you. And, who would have thought a fork could be such a useful tool. Seems simple, doesn't it? Give it a try, and see what you think. Any takers??

Pricking

Before I leave for a few days of R & R, I thought I would share with you a card that is done by pricking. You can find free patterns online to use. It really isn't hard, and I do love the looks of it. Try it for yourself, and see what you think.

Pocket Card

Here's a little pocket card that I made. Stuffed it with some goodies, and it is ready to go. Would be great for a little "Valentine treat", or a special "treat for your Valentine" anytime of the year. A little special treat, just to let someone know they are special to you, is always welcomed. The real secret of happiness is not what you give or what you receive, it's what you share. Share something with someone special in your life today.

FIREPROOF

Have you by any chance, watched the movie, FIREPROOF? I was able to check it out of our local library. It had been raining outside, was cold and damp, so DH built a fire in our fireplace, and we watched FIREPROOF together. Why do I cry, even when a movie ends the way I want it to? Why do I cry when a baby is born, when someone gives their heart to the Lord, or when someone gets married? That's just me. If you haven't seen this movie, please do. And, I bought the book, The Love Dare, that is mentioned in the movie. It takes you on a 40 day journey that is challenging and sometimes difficult. After you have seen the movie or read the book, let me hear from you, and let me know what you think. So, today, instead of a card, I want to show you my DH and I. Several years ago, I was able to go with him on a "once in a lifetime cruise", and this is the picture that was taken. Have a good day, and DON'T LEAVE YOUR PARTNER BEHIND.

Quilling Birthday

Men...........They can sure require alot of your time when they are sick. My DH is off work for 2 long-g-g weeks due to pulled muscles in his back. How is a gal suppose to get anything done when they are home??(CAN I GET A WITNESS?) So, today I am going to reach back, and share with you a card that I did, that really was lots of fun. In fact, I wouldn't mind working on another. It does take patience, though. Quilling! You take long strips of paper, and using a twilling tool, create the look that you want. Try it, and see what you think. Have a good day!

Valentine

Here's one of the Valentines I made this year. I just loved this PP. Hope you like it, too.

Iris Folding

Iris Folding is something that I don't do alot of, but do like it. I made this lady, added her beads, and then framed the card. Iris Folding really isn't as complicated as you might think. There are lots of free patterns out there for you to practice with. Have fun!!
