Have Fun!

I know a special little guy that is going to celebrate his birthday this weekend. How is he so special......well, he is our grandson, and that REALLY makes him special. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Chase. And we do hope you "HAVE FUN"! As for the card, the background of the image is baby blue, and did not show up on the scan. It really does look much better IRL, trust me! And, WHY didn't I ink the edges? Baby blue against the white........DUH, Joyce! "It is NOT a Sr. Moment", I tell myself. TFL

GRADUATION!

It is that time of year, when our graduates get to send out special invitations to family and friends, to attend a very important event in their lives, their High School Graduation. Two young ladies from our church, sent me an invitation, along with their picture. I have been knowing both of them most of their lives. Wanting to do something special for them, instead of making a "normal" card, I made them each a little purse, and included some $$. In their gift bag, I wrote them each a letter, and was able to include in one of them, a little drawing she had made for me when she was about 5 years old, that I have kept over the years. Memories, memories. Anyway, gonna share their little purses with you. Hope you like them. As always, thanks for looking at my creations.

Happy Birthday, Clay!

He started out doing karaoke shows, DJ shows, and sound for other bands, and now he has his own band.........THE WILD WEST SHOW! Meet Clay, my husband's son. Nashville, look out! Since he recently celebrated another birthday, I thought I would use the background from his WWS myspace page, and then include his picture for his card. HAPPY BIRHTDAY, CLAY!

Nose Job(Part 1)

Let talk about Cosmetic Surgery for awhile. Have you ever seen so much going on? It's either a boob job, nose job, tummy tuck.........you name it, all with the hopes and attempt to improve the appearance of aging, or unattractive parts of the body. When I saw this old man, and due to an unfortunate incident in our family recently, I couldn't help but laugh. His nose is so huge! So, I thought I would make this a fun card, making him so proud of his nose job, and wanting to make sure you notice, because after spending that kind of $$, you sure want to make sure everyone can tell. You can tell, can't you? Now, for the "rest of the story".................

Nose Job(Part 2)

A couple weeks ago, my DH had to have nose surgery to remove a skin cancer. It really looked horrible, as you can see. Left him with his nose "swollen" for sure. He was off work for 2 weeks, and when he returned, he wanted pictures to show. When I saw this image, yep, it reminded me of his "nose job", and I thought that I would let this be a fun card(sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying, you know). Here is the pictures that were on the inside. OUCH!!! Wear that sunscreen....Doctor's orders!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMY!

Quite a number of years ago(see how nice I was not to give away her age), the Lord blessed a certain family with a beautiful baby girl. The little girl grew up, and my family got to meet her in 1984. From there, she ended up becoming my first Daughter-in-law. Amy is a wonderful wife to my son, and a great mother to my 3 grandsons. She is a hard worker and I admire her so much. She has been a good DIL to me, was with me through my first DH's sickness and death, and I really do appreciate her so much. May 12 she will be celebrating another birthday, and I was so happy to create this special card for her. You have done this family proud, Amy, and I love you a bunch. May God continue to bless and keep you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Mother's Day

I don't do Mother's Day very well. My mother passed away when I was in my early 20's, so many years ago. How I have missed her so much! Her untimely death still infuriates me! She became sick, and was rushed to the hospital, a place that she had not had to be in for some 20+ years. The family was unable to locate me, as this was the days before cell phones. She kept asking if I had arrived, and to this day, I do not know if she ever knew that I DID make it. When I did arrive at the E.R., I was told I could NOT go in to see her, that she was only "putting on". After she had been in the E.R. for 1 hour and 45 mins., some quack of a doctor examined her, and told the family to take her home, as it was only a stomach virus. I stood at the door to look in on her, and told my brother that she did NOT look like she was ready to go home to me. I decided I would load her up, and take her to another Lake Charles hospital. I left the E.R. and went to get my car to bring around to the E.R. entrance, and when I got back, she had already passed away! Excuse me? What a stomach virus! THEN the hospital wanted to know if I would like to go in and see her. Was I ever MAD!! "No, NOT NOW". Why didn't you let me in when she was alive? Our family had an autopsy done, and found she had gall stones, and only needed gall bladder surgery, which we had told the doctor we "thought" was wrong with her in the first place. The autopsy stated that due to no medical attention for so long a period of time, brought on the heart attack. Any use to sue the doctor/hospital? NO........we would have had to "get in line". Sure do miss my mom. She was a special lady. My card today is one that I made for my MIL. She is in her mid 80's, and still lives alone. God has really blessed her, and her family to be able to have had their mother all these years. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you moms out there.

SU Card

This card was done using all SU products: Cardstock, PP, stamp, ribbon. The coloring was done with Prisma pencils. Plain, but I like it, and think it would make a great Sympathy card. Special thanks to all of you who follow my blog!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, PEGGY!

What a special treat to be able to send out an Anniversary card to my niece, Peggy, and her husband Butch. They have been married some 37 years this week. How cool is that! I hope they have many more happy years together.
